Why a public post can disappear even when the profile is still visible
A public profile remaining visible does not guarantee that every older post will still be available. Individual posts may be deleted, archived, age-restricted, region-limited, or temporarily unavailable while the account itself remains open to the public.
A profile page and an individual post are not the same availability check. The profile can remain public while certain posts disappear from the grid, lose visibility, or stop resolving properly because of content-level changes.
That is why support reports should mention whether the issue affects the whole profile or only one URL. If only one post is missing, the likely causes are narrower and often tied to the post itself rather than to the viewer, session, or profile lookup flow.
From a troubleshooting perspective, it is more useful to compare neighboring posts, check whether the direct post link still opens, and note when the change happened. Those details help separate post-specific removal from a wider delivery problem.
